A girl student of Class-X was allegedly raped by Mamun Shaikh (22) in the village Teligati under Morrelganj Upazila in the district on Thursday.
Thana police already arrested one Muthu Shaikh (18), younger brother of the rapist on the charge of helping his brother to commit the crime.
The victim girl was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for her medical test. It is learnt from the police that after the medical test the girl will be sent to the court for recording her statement.
