A teenage girl was killed and her nephew injured after an abandoned building of an adjacent government-run vagabond shelter centre collapsed on their tin-shed house at Rainkhola in the city’s Mirpur area early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Kulsum Akhter
Nishi,15, while the injured as Raihan,8.
Shahjadi Sultana, inspector of Fire Service Control Room, said Nishi and her nephew Raihan were seriously injured as the abandoned building of the shelter centre fell down on their tin-shed house around 2.45am when they were asleep.
Informed, fire fighters rushed to the spot and took them to Mirpur Shishu Hospital where doctors declared Nishi dead.
