Staff Reporter :Police recovered the body of a school girl from the ground floor of their building in Gazipur’s Konabari area on Tuesday, a day after she went missing.The deceased has been identified as Maria Akter, 10, daughter of Aktaruzzaman and a fourth grader in Shahin Cadet Academy.Maria went missing on July 14. Her family filed a case with Joydevpur Police Station Tuesday in this connection.The law enforcers detained three persons for their alleged connection with the murder of the girl, police said. The detainees have been identified as Abdul Halim,43, son of the night guard of the victim’s building, Suman Sheikh, 20, son of Akkas Shiekh of Mominkhar Hat in Faridpur and Milon, 25, son of Alfaz Pramanik.Quoting the relatives and witnesses, Joydevpur thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Quamruzzaman said that police searched all the flats of the victim’s building and recovered the body from the ground floor around 10:00am. Maria might have been suffocated to death after the criminals failed to rape and a previous link of their family feud, the police official said. The arrested persons are being interrogated, Quamruzaman said. The body has been sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
