A college girl who was kidnapped by the miscreants from Sharankhola Upazila headquarters in Bagerhat district on Sunday for realising a sum of Tk.1 lakh as ransom was recovered by the police after 3 hours of the incident.
It is learnt from the police that the college girl who hails from Tafalbari area under Sharankhola Upazila is a HSC examinee of Sharankhola Degree College. On the day while she was returning home from a coaching centre as usual and went to the residence of one her girl college mates near at Rayenda Pilot High School some miscreants who were following her confined her and her friend in the house and asked her mother to pay them a sum of Taka one lakh as ransom for release of her daughter.
The mother brought the matter to the knowledge of the police of Sharankhola PS. Police raided the area and recovered the girl. But the kidnappers managed to escape.
