Girl attacked with fatal disease in Nilphamari

A girl child Johura Begum (9), daughter of poor rickshaw puller Idris Ali of Purbo Chikon mati village in Domar upazila is attacked with a fatal disease that attacks nervous system and muscle leading to incurable paralysis.
District health department suspects it to be as Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) and formed a medical team one week ago to work in the village for ensuring safety of local children as it is a contagious disease.
Idris Ali, father of the affected child told this correspondent that his daughter was healthy enough to move as usually as other children.
Few months ago we noticed that her muscles of hands, legs, neck back become flabby making the organs thin and unable her to walk or stand without support,” said Idris.
“As I took her to Domar upazila health complex, doctors after examining for a long time, opined that she might have been attacked with uncommon AFP disease,” he added.
