Ghulam Azam taken to CCU of BSMMU

UNB, Dhaka :Nonagenarian retired Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Ghulam Azam, who was sentenced to 90 years’ imprisonment unto death for masterminding atrocities during the 1971 liberation war, was taken to Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) yesterday morning following doctors’ advice. ”Ghulam Azam was taken to Coronary Care Unit of BSMMU from the prison cell of the hospital at 8:30am as doctors advised so,” Senior Jail Super Forman Ali told UNB.ABM Abdullah, head of the medicine department of BSMMU, conduced a checkup on Ghulam Azam as he had high blood pressure as well as breathing problems and advised to take him to CCU accordingly.On July 15, 2013, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 awarded Ghulam Azam 90 years’ jail term unto death for abetting atrocities during the war of independence against Pakistan.
