Gherao programme wearing ritual cloths was declared at a rally at Gandamara village in Banskhali by former UP chairman of Gandamara Liaquat Ali.
He said unless any specific statement from the govt is announced by Saturday evening, the residents of the union will put gherao the Upazila office of Banskhali wearing coffin cloths.
Former city Mayor Mahmudul Islam chowdhury also spoke in the rally as chief guest.
Liaquat Ali in his brief deliverations said coordinator of S.Alam Nasiruddin purchased the land from Gandamara area from the poor residents with lame assurances of building different export oriented factories like shoes, cotton, garments etc.
But two months ago, a sign board of coal fired power project was erected in the area.
A reliable sources said centring forming a committee for this ongoing movement in the rally venue, disopinion arised between Mahmudul Islam chowdhury and Liaquat Ali.
Liaquat Ali said Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury is trying to divert the movement otherwise and his involvement in this committee unacceptable, a local eye witness sources said.
