A team of German International Cooperation (GIZ) Project visited the witnessed the activities of Chittagong judiciary on Tuesday last.
The team members also visit the District Legal Aid office, Court Hazath , GRO office and talked with the concerned officials there. German govt has taken up a project under GIZ to extend cooperation to the prisoners in jail custody in Bangladesh .
Home Ministry will implement the project titled ‘Improvement of the Real Situation of over crowding in Prisons in Bangladesh(IRSOP) with the cooperation of German govt, they said.
The team members consists of Mr. Martin Muller , Head of Asia Pacific Region of GIZ, country director of GIZ in Bangaldesh Mr. Torius Baker, Head of program of GIZ Promita Sengupta, Head of project performance Mr. Iver Tropoly, GIZ Bangladesh Advisor Taher Yasmeen, National programmed coordinator Ziaul Hasan were present during the visit.
Meanwhile Asstt. Police commissioner (Prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikas chakraborty, Divisional Legal Officer Adv. Abu jafar Md.Obaidullah Sadi, district project officer Adv. Rabiul Hossain Majumder accompany the team members in Chittagong court building. District legal Aid officer (Sr. Asstt. Judge) Mujahidur Rahman apprised the team members about the ongoing court procedures and norms of the judiciary, sources said.
