The Chittagong University authorities on Saturday night filed two general diaries following the death threat issued to Vice Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, said police.
One was filed with the city’s Khulshi Police Station and another with Hathazari Police Station in Hathazari upazila, demanding security both at his city residence and in the workplace in Hathazari, said Registrar (acting) Prof Kamrul Huda.
CU staff and officials formed three separate human chains yesterday on the campus protesting the death threat. On July 28, five eminent persons of the city including the VC received death threats through an anonymous letter.
