Police arrested Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Mayor Professor MA Mannan from the capital’s Baridhara Defense Officers’ Housing
Society (DOHS) area on Wednesday afternoon.
Abdul Mannan, also an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, was picked up by a special team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police around 5:30pm, said Khaleda’s media wing staff Sayrul Kabir Khan.
Harun-ur-Rashid, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Gazipur, said that Mayor Mannan would be shown arrested in at least three separate cases filed with the Joydevpur Police Station in Gazippur district.
