UNB, Gazipur :A case was filed against 439 BNP leaders and activists, including Gazipur City Corporation mayor and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisor M A Mannan, in connection with Sunday’s clash with police in front of BNP office here.Mahmudul Hasan, sub-inspector of Joydevpur police station, filed the case against 39 named BNP leaders and activists including Mannan and 400 unidentified people Sunday night on charges of attacking police and obstructing them from discharging their duties.At least 50 people, including mayor Mannan, were injured in a clash between police and BNP activists in front of BNP office here on Sunday.The clash erupted as police obstructed a procession brought out by BNP activists led by the city mayor at around 12:15 pm as part of the party’s central programme, leaving 50 people injured. Police fired rubber bullets and tear shell to bring the situation under control.Ten people, including a woman city councilor, received bullet wounds during the clash.
