Gazi Group Cricketers maintained all-win record in Walton Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League beating Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 24 runs under D/L method in a rain-effected match at BKSP ground-4 in Savar on Tuesday.
Sheikh Jamal DC batted first after winning the toss and scored 232 runs for 9 in a curtailed 43 over-a-side match with two down Tanbir Hyder making a half century scoring 54-ball 57 runs, featuring five fours and one six.
Besides, opener Fazle Mahmud (38), Indian P Chopra (35), Abdullah Al Mamun (23), Shohag Gazi (21), Ziaur Rahman (20) and Rajin Saleh (16) were the other notable contributors for Sheikh Jamal.
Mehedy Hasan and Abu Haider took two wickets each conceding 36 and 47 runs respectively.
In reply, Gazi Group Cricketers scored 114 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20.5 overs before the match was stopped due to rain. Finally they were declared winner under D/L method as their winning target was refixed at 91 runs in 20.5 overs.
National colored opener Jahurul Islam hammered an unconquered 49 runs off 56 deliveries with four hits to the fence and was adjudged man of the match.
Besides, another national colored top order batsman Mominul Haque scored 45-ball 46 runs hitting seven boundaries while national opener Anamul Haque made run-a-ball 12 with the help of two boundaries.
Tanbir Hyder and Shohag Gazi grabbed one wicket each giving away 17 and 21 runs respectively.
In the day’s another match at Fatullah, Prime bank CC beat Partex SC by 37 runs under D/L Method.
Batting first after winning the toss, Partex SC were all out for 192 runs in 46.2 overs with Jony Talukder making 69 and Jatin S Sexena 40 runs.
Nazrul Islam bagged three wickets for 23 runs while Asif Ahmed took two for 34 runs.
In reply, Prime Bank CC scored 114 runs for no loss in 24 overs before match was stopped due to inclement weather and they were finally declared winner by 37 runs as their target was set at 78 runs in 24 overs.
Opener Zakir Hossain scored an unbeaten 55 runs off 75 balls with four fours and one six to be adjudged man of the match while another opener Mehehi Maruf made 69-ball unbeaten 52 runs, featuring two fours and two sixes.
In the day’s other match at BKSP ground-3, Brothers Union Club defeated Kalabagan KC by 17 runs, also under D/L method.
Batting first, Kalabagan KC scored 171 for all in 42.2 overs.
In reply, Brothers Union Club made 82 runs for the loss of one wicket in 22.2 overs and they were declared winner under D/L method as their revised winning target was fixed at 66 runs in 22.2 overs.
