Gayle ready to appear for Chittagong Vikings today

West Indies dashing batsman Chris Gayle will appear on the ground for Chittagong Vikings against the match of Rangpur Riders of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 scheduled to be held today (Sunday) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mipur in the city.
The Caribbean left handed batsman, who arrived in the city on Friday afternoon, had a practice session with his teammates on Saturday before his first appearance in this season’s BPL.
Vikings currently placed at 4th position in the points table securing eight points from eight matches having four wins and four loses while Rangpur Riders stood at second position with 10 points from seven outings have five wins and two defeats.
Starting their campaign with a 29-run win over Comilla Victorians in the tournament opener, Vikings lost to Rangpur Riders by nine-wicket, Khulna Titans by four-run, Barisal Bulls by seven-wicket and Dhaka Dynamites by 19-run. Then maintained their winning spree beating Rajshshi kings by 19-run, Comilla Victorians by six-wicket and Barisal Bulls by 78 runs.
In the last three edition of BPL T20, Gayle played for franchised teams Dhaka Gladiators, Barisal Burners and Barisal Bulls respectively, where he scored 541 runs in 10 matches, including three centuries and one half century, at an average 77.28 runs.
