A lighter ship named ‘MV Hang Gang-1’ sank after colliding with a sinking ship in the Bay of Bengal near Bhasanchar. The accident took place around 10 am on Tuesday (July 13) The ship is operated by Messrs. Z Shipping Line. Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority Deputy Director Selim said the MV Hang Gang-1 was heading towards Mawa from Chittagong port with a gas line pipe. On the way, the steering wheel of the ship fell off and a sink collided with the ship and sank. The sailors were able to get safely to the nearby boats.
