The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) team on Sunday arrested Sirajul Hoque , Deputy Managing Director of F S Apparels Limited of Agrabad Commercial area if Chittagong on charges of misappropriating Tk 1.63 crore of Uttara Bank of Agrabad branch.
An ACC team detained Hoque in front of his office at Agrabad Commercial Area at about 12.30 pm on Sunday , ACC sources said.
Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan, director of ACC, Chittagong divisional office said Sirajul Hoque received Tk 1.63 crore as loan from Uttara Bank, Agrabad branch in 2003 but misappropriated full amount of money without shipment. He also went into hiding after misappropriating the money.
Meanwhile, a case was filed with Doublemooring thana on October 20 in 2003 against Sirajul Hoque. The ACC after investigation found the truth of the allegation. The court sent him to jail after he was produced before the court, sources said.
