A gardener who was arrested for alleged attack on Ghoraghat upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam and her father were placed on remand for interrogation.
Rabiul Islam, who is also a Class IV employee, was placed on a six-day remand by Dinajpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Ismail Hossain after he was produced before the court by the detective branch of police.
Court inspector Israil Hossain confirmed the matter.He said the investigation officer of the case pleaded to the court to place Rabiul on a ten-day remand. After the hearing, the court placed him on a six-day remand.
The investigation agency, the Detective Branch of police, said Rabiul used to work at UNO’s residence as a gardener. He was arrested on Saturday.
In connection with the atatck, UNO Waheeda’s elder brother Sheikh Arif Hossain filed a case with Ghoraghat Police Station on September 3. Unidentified persons were made accused in the case.
