Gano Varsity wants Facebook unblocking

The students of Gano University on Monday staged a silent demonstration on the university campus demanding immediate unblocking of all social media, including Facebook.
They also demanded of the government to ensure rights of speech of all sections of people in the country.
The demonstration started at about 1:00pm and ended at 2.30pm on the campus.
About two hundred students from different departments and faculties took part in the demonstration with placards.
The Controller of the university, Mir Mortoza Ali Babu, Assistant Registrar Abu Md Mokammel, Pharmacy Department teacher Md Monir Hossain, Government and Politics Department teacher Md Hasibur Rahman, Vice-President of Students’ Union of the University Md Shamim Hossain and General Secretary Imran Hossain also participated in the demonstration.  
Bidhan Mukherjee, Convener of the demonstration programme, said, Facebook is the best way to communicate with the people. It is now a strong part of the social media. The people express their opinion through Facebook. So the government should unblock the facebook soon, he said.
The demonstrating students said that it was logical that the government closed the Facebook for a certain period on security reasons. The people supported it. But it is totally illogical to close the social media, including Facebook, for an indefinite period, they said.
They demanded of the government to restore Facebook and ensure rights of freedom of speech of the people.
