An unidentified person has demanded money by cloning the official mobile number of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Gafargaon in Mymensingh. An unidentified person called Nazrul Islam Tota, chairman of Usthi Union Parishad of the upazila, from the official mobile number 01733373336 of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) on Tuesday afternoon and demanded Tk 10,000.
At that time, the UP chairman, realizing the unfamiliar voice, hung up the phone and informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer later informed the Gafargaon and Pagla Thana administration about the matter and posted a warning on social media Facebook.
UP Chairman Nazrul Islam Tota said, “UNO’s number is saved in my mobile and I know his voice.”
