Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University and Bangladesh Center of Excellence (BCE) have jointly organized a program titled Future of Business Leadership at chattogram at the World Trade Center. Citi Bank NA, a financial institution, assisted in organizing the program.
The main objective of this program is to prepare the next generation of business leadership of chattogram for sustainable development in the changed world situation through proper knowledge. Under the program, a two-day workshop titled ‘Visionary Leadership for Growth Strategy and Governance’ formulated by IBA started on Friday last and ended last night. The workshop was attended by 18 renowned business leaders from a total of 14 companies, including export-oriented, local and public limited companies of the port city.
These include housing and construction materials, readymade garments, pharmaceuticals and large industrial groups. All these organizations create about 80,000 direct jobs. Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, addressed the closing ceremony of the workshop on Saturday last as the chief guest via video conferencing. Mahbubul Alam, President of Chattogram Chamber and Chairman of BCE, N Raja Shekharan (Managing Director) of City Bank NA Bangladesh and City Country Manager participated as guests.
IBA Director Prof. Syed Farhat Anwar conducted the workshop as the Chief Coordinator.
Square Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Tapan Chowdhury spoke on General Transition of Leadership and Dr. Indiana University in the United States. Hillol Bala discusses Disruptive Technology and Digitalization.
Chief Guest Salman F. Rahman said, ‘Bangladeshis are basically entrepreneurs and the government will play a helpful role in taking these initiatives and the new generation of business leaders in line with the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolution to move the economy and the country forward.’ City Bank NA Bangladesh Managing Director and City Country Officer N Raja Shekharan said, “Citibank NA Bangladesh is pleased to assist in organizing this unique workshop on’ Visionary Leadership for Growth Strategy and Governance ‘for business leaders in the port city of Chattogram.
