The ongoing furniture fair of Chittagong is experiencing heavy rush on 4th day yesterday.
Bangladesh Furniture Industry Association, Chittagong division arranged the fair from December 4 last at GEC Convention Centre in the city .
Comparatively the fair becomes dearer this year than previous years. Housewives are the major visitors in the fair. A sources of the organisers said to this reporter that to discourage the imported furniture, this fair is being arranged in the port city and this is the sixth of this kind.
A buyer of the furniture told that this locally made furnitures are more better than the imported one and comparatively the prices are also cheap .
The household furnitures like sofa sets, ward drob , dinning table, chair table, khat, almirah, dressing table, centre table of different sizes and qualities cost ranging from Tk.20 thousand to highest Tk.4 lakh .Besides, office furniture including computer tables are also displayed in the fair stalls. A stall owner Kamal Hossain told that we just participated in the fair for only introduce ourself as a sophisticated furniture manufacturer not for business trend at this moment.
President of Chittagong divisional unit of the Furniture Industry Association Syed ASM Nuruddin told that the number of visitors increased than the previous years and we will try to maintain our continuity of the fair.
