Funeral of BNP leader Hannan Shah’s wife held

BNP National Standing Committee member, wife of late Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah, former minister and mother of Kapasia BNP guardian Shah Riazul Hannan Riaz, Syeda Farooq Sultana (Nahid Hannan) at the end of the third round of prayers He was buried on Saturday evening, July 17. Earlier, he died of a heart attack at CMH in Dhaka on Friday afternoon (Innalillahi Wainnailaihir Raziun). He was 63 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by two sons, a daughter and many grandchildren. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep condolences on behalf of the party to the bereaved family.
News of the death of Nahid Hannan, a long-time ally of the late leader Hannan Shah, has cast a shadow of mourning among BNP leaders and activists. The first phase of Janaza prayers was held at Jame Mosque next to DOHS’s house in Dhaka on Saturday morning, the second phase was held at Ghagtia Chala High School ground in Kapasia after Asr and the third phase was completed in the yard of his house.
