‘Full security of train passengers ensured’

Railway Minister Mujibul Huq on Saturday said the authorities have ensured full security for train passengers during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
“The railway force has been prepared so that no act of sabotage or accident can take place in trains,” he told journalists while visiting Airport Railway Station in the city.
The minister said the government has taken measures to ensure cent percent security so that thousands of Eid passengers can travel safely and comfortably.
He said hoped that there will be no problem regarding availability of train tickets during this Eid. “We have adequate train tickets. The sale of tickets began 10 days before the Eid this year,” he said.
The minister talked to passengers of a special train and inquired whether they had to face any problem. He said there was no train schedule fiasco so far.
A few trains were a little bit late to leave the station because of technical glitch, he said and hoped that all trains will leave the station on time.
The minister said the number of train passengers increased by 10,000 this year. The number of passengers was 2.50 lakh last year, which increased to 2.60 lakh this year, he added.
Senior officials concerned were present at the station during the minister’s visit.
