The orientation program for the newly enrolled undergraduate students of Spring-2017 semester of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held on Saturday at its permanent campus Auditorium. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU was present as chief guest in the orientation program.
Presided over by Prof Dr SM Mahbub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, the function was also addressed by Prof Dr M Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof Dr AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof Dr Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Prof Dr Mostafa Kamal, Director (Permanent Campus), Prof Dr Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Dr Touhid Bhauyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering (SWE), Prof Dr Farid A Subhani, Director (HRDI), Dr Md. Mohosin Reza, Head, Department of English and Dr ABM Kamal Pasha. Ejaj- Ur -Rahman, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration conducted the program.
Addressing as the chief guest Md. Sabur Khan said that, DIU is trying to build the students in such a way so that they can contribute to build prosperous Bangladesh who are the main assets to meet the goal. The main focus of the university is to build technology and sports oriented graduates and create new entrepreneurs, he added. “We have already finalized master plan of our permanent campus and development work is going on in full suing accordingly.
We provide students with world- class facilities for education, he added. He also said, our dream is to uphold the university among internationally renowned top ranked universities and accordingly university authority is working tirelessly.  
He urged the newly enrolled students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21st century and requested guardians to keep frequent communication with the university authority.
Urging the students to be an ideal human being he said that three major things – discipline, honesty and quality can make life successful. To be an ideal citizen of the country he advised the students to achieve these virtues and to be obedient to the parents
