Frequent interfaith dialogue stressed to ensure peace in society

Concerted efforts of religious leaders from all faiths and frequent interfaith dialogue can be the best ways of ensuring peace and tranquility everywhere in the society.
Besides, interfaith dialogues and intensified efforts are very important to combat terrorism and extremism coupled with freeing the society from all sorts of social crimes. Religious leaders from all faiths and academics came up with the observations while addressing a daylong interfaith dialogue styled “Religious Freedom, Peace building and Tolerance: Role of Religious” virtually yesterday.
The Asia Foundation (TAF) hosted the dialogue under its ‘Promoting Community Driven Early Warning System to Reduce Religious Freedom Violence in Bangladesh’ project.
Prof Pradip Kumar Panday from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in Rajshahi University, Officer-in-Charge of Kornahar Police Station Anwar Ali, Paba Upazila unit president of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad Shayman Kumar Ghosh, local unit president of Puja Udjapan Committee Alok Kumar Das and Paba Upazila Chairman Wazed Ali addressed the meeting as resource persons.
Lead Peacekeeper Prodyut Kumar Sarker moderated the discussion.
On behalf of the TAF, Programme Officer Zilhaj Azam, Senior Project Officer Mahmuda Sultana and Project Officers Mosharraf Hossain and Mita Sarker also spoke.
Prof Pradip Panday said dialogue should be held in such a way, that participants are able to learn from others’ religious experiences, and good practices.
Zilhaj Azam told the meeting that the project is intended to reducing violations of religious freedom through the creation of an Early Warning Systems effort in Bangladesh.
