Dr Brigitte Silberstein, a renowned Geographer and Historian of France, called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Tuesday at the latter’s office of the university.
Pro-VC (Academic) of DU Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad was present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues including socio- economic development in Bangladesh. They exchanged views regarding ongoing terrorism, extremism and political turmoil at different parts in the world.
Bangladesh is a peaceful and liberal democratic county, the French Historian opined.
Prof Arefin thanked the guest for her visit to Dhaka University.
