Free eye care camp held at Chandanaish

A free eye care camp was held at Fatenagar Sharifunnesa Naziruddin Girls’ High School at Chandanaish in Chittagong recently with a view to helping the underprivileged people.
 Over 1000 thousand patients were provided free eye treatment. Among them 100 individuals are also being given long term medical care and cataract surgeries.
The event was sponsored by Adv Badiul Alam Jebunnessa Begum Trust and facilitated by Chandanaish Samity.
Providing the care was Shevron Eye Hospital and Research Center. The event was inaugurated by former Social Welfare Secretary and former DG, BIRDEM Dr. KM Fariduddin.
 The committee’s President, Abdul Quayum Chowdhury presided over the event and General Secretary Md Jahangir Alam was present as the chief guest . Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, MP. Adv Badiul Alam Jebunnessa Begum Trust’s respected Trustee and Top of Mind Executive Director Salma Adil,City Corporation Panel Mayor Chowdhury Hasan Mahmud Hasni, noted philanthropist Jashimuddin Chowdhury Montu, Eye Specialist and the committee’s former president Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Deputy Civil Surgeon and Eye Specialist Dr. M Wazed Ovi, Abu Taher Chowdhury, Prof Azam Khan, Babar Ali, Maksudur Rahman, Abdul Nabi Khan, Mahbubur Rahman, Abdul Mannan, Helaluddin Chowdhury were among others present in the programme as the special guests.
On the 2nd, 9th and 15th October, selected 100 people will receive free eye treatment and cataract surgery at the city’s Shevron Eye Hospital under the financial support of Advocated Badiul Alam Jebunnessa Begum Trust. BAJB Trust Chairman and Top of Mind CEO Ziaddin Adil, reiterating Trust’s ongoing commitment to help local community’s health sector said.
