Four students expelled for torturing student over controlling hostel dining

Four students of Institute of Health Technology Barishal were expelled on Wednesday January 29, 2020 afternoon by the authourity over torturing a fellow student over controlling hostel dining on early January 24.
Saiful Islam, principal of IHTB, confirming the report said, the four second year students Sagor Biswas Debojit, Soikat Biswas, of radiology, Md. Imon of dental and Pias Chandra Kuri of pharmacy departments, were expelled for one academic year and permanently from the hostel.
The action was taken after the three-member probe committee formed in this connection by the institution authourity submitting report found the aforesaid as guilty, the principal IHTB added.
Mentionable victim, witnesses, IHTB sources said, victim Salahuddin was old first year student of dental faculty and resident of room no.413 of the BIHT boys hostel.
About 1:30 AM January 24 the accused second year students of BIHT, entering inside the room of Salahuddin engaged in altercation over some disputes of controlling the hostel and dining.

After some time when they went out Salahuddin closed the door of the room. But they again breaking the door of the room entering inside beat and tortured Salahuddin for about an hour.

Police after informed by BIHT principal rushed to the spot and rescuing Salahuddin admitted him at surgery ward of Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and later he was released from there after getting treatment.

However no case was lodged in this connection, said Nurul Islam, officer in charge of Kotwali police station.
