Chattogram Bureau :
Four people were killed and 11 others injured in separate landslides in Akbarshah and Foys Lake areas of Chittagong city on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Liton (24), Emon (14), Shahinur (32) and Mainur Akhtar (20). Confirming the matter, Inspector Sadequr Rahman of Panchlaish Police Station said that five people injured in the landslide at Akbarshah Barisal Ghona area of Akbarshah Police Station No. 1 at night were brought to the hospital. The doctor on duty later pronounced two of them dead.
The condition of the rest is also alarming. The injured have been admitted to wards 27 and 24.
Fire Service Leader Uching said a landslide occurred at around 3pm on Friday in the Vijay Nagar area of Lake City, Faisal Lake in the Akbarshah area of the city. Upon receiving the news, we went to the spot and rescued 6 people. Two died on the spot. The rest were brought to Chittagong Medical College.
