Four model mosques launched in Ctg

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated 50 model mosques across the country simultaneously. 4 of them are in Chittagong district. These are located in the Kalpalok residential area of the city, Mirsarai, Lohagara and Sandwip upazilas of the district.. The Prime Minister inaugurated these modern and well-equipped mosques and cultural centers from Ganobhaban at 11:15 am on Thursday through teleconference.
Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League Engineer Mosharraf Hossain MP was present at Mirsarai. Leaders of Mirsarai Upazila Administration and Upazila Awami League and allied organizations were present. Chittagong-6 constituency MP and Chittagong South District Awami League president Moslem Uddin Ahmed, CCC mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury unveiled the nameplate at Bakalia in the city and took part in the munajat. MP Mahfuzur Rahman Mita, elected from Chittagong-3 constituency, was present at the Sandwip venue of the mosque.
After the inauguration of the model mosque built in the Lohagara Upazila Complex, the Lohagara Upazila Administration organized a mosque complex organized by the Member of Parliament Prof. Dr. Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi MP said that the model mosque will not only be a mosque – it will be developed as an Islamic cultural center. These mosques with modern facilities will have separate ablutions and prayers for men and women.
There will be maktabs, libraries, research rooms, conference rooms, training facilities for imams and pilgrims. The people will be made aware against militancy and violence from the model mosque. As well as drugs, dowry, child marriage will be promoted. According to the Ministry of Religion, the construction cost of each of these mosques and Islamic cultural centers with a total area of 19,90,036 square meters at a cost of Tk 8,622 crore will be at least Tk 12 crore to a maximum of Tk 15 crore each.
