At least four persons, including a minor, were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and microbus on Dhaka-Mawa Highway at Kadampur under the South Keraniganj Thana on the outskirts of the capital on Saturday afternoon. The injured persons were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and the Nawab Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital for treatment.Jamal Uddin Mir, Officer-in-Charge of the South Keraniganj Thana, said that the collision took place around 4:00pm, leaving three passengers of the microbus dead on the spot. The microbus driver succumbed to his injuries atthe Dhaka Medical College and Hospital at about 5:00pm, he added. The deceased were identified as microbus passengers Asma, 25, Tania, 14, Tawsim, 4, and driver Kawser, 35.Locals said, the microbus was going to Keraniganj from Champapur under Sirajdikhan Upazila in Munshiganj district while the bus of the Ilish Paribahan was heading for Mawa from the capital.Mizanur Rahman, a survivor, said that he and 10 other people were going to a relatives house at Pargandaria by the microbus. Suddenly the bus coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their transport. “I cannot say anything more as I myself is injured”, he said.
