Four hurt by snatchers in city

Four persons, including two students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) and a contractor, were injured by some unidentified snatchers in the city’s Sher-e-Banglanagar and Badda areas respectively on Saturday.
The injured persons have been identified as Kankan Chakma (22) and Ovi Chakma (22), Saiful Islam, contractor of Dhaka Electricity Supply Company (DESCO), and security guard Zulfikqar Ali (30).
Quoting the victims, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s (DMCH) Police Outpost In-charge Mozammel Haque said that the muggers stabbed Kankan and Ovi and left them critically injured at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar around 2:30am. They snatched mobile phone sets and wallets from their possession.
Locals took Ovi to the Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital and then to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the police official said.
On the other hand, quoting the witnesses, Badda Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) M A Jalil said that two to three snatchers stopped Saiful on the way around 11:30am and shot at him. At that time, guard Zulfikar also received bullet injuries instantly.
Locals rushed them to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) immediately.
