A court here on Sunday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment for killing a trader in Matlab upazila in the district.
Chandpur District and Sessions Judge Md Julfikar Ali Khan passed the order and fined the convicts Tk 30,000 each.
The convicts are: Abul Kalam, 50, Md Babul, 42, Md Khokon, 45, and Md Liton, 19.
According to the case statement, the convicts hacked Abdul Matin on July 5, 2015 following previous enmity over property.
Later, severely injured Matin succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Victim’s daughter filed a case with Matlab Police Station on July 27, 2015.
