The 30th founding anniversary of Department of Narcotics Control was observed with a befitting manner in Gopalganj on Thursday. The theme of the day was ‘Madok Rukhbo, Bangabondhur Sonar Bangla Gorbo’.
District administration Gopalganj and Narcotics Control Department, Gopalganj Unit jointly observed this anniversary.
On the occasion of the day, they brought out a colourful rally a chanting slogan. The rally paraded main roads in the town. The high officials of district administration and all staffs of Narcotics Control Department, Gopalganj Unit, teachers, students, NGO workers, political leaders and local elites attended the rally.
After rally, a discussion meeting was held at DC office conference room premises in Gopalganj. Md Sadikur Rahman Khan, UNO, Gopalganj presided over the discussion meeting, where Md. Eliasur Rahman, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Gopalganj was presented as the chief guest.
Among others, Chowdhury Emrul Hasan, Additional Director (AD), Narcotics Control Department Gopalganj Unit, Abdullah Al Masud, ASP, Gopalganj,Mintu Halder, Programme Maneger, BYFC, Gopalganj and Sheikh Luthfar Rahman Bacchu, Chairman, Sadar Upazilla, Gopalganj were spoken on the occasion .
BSS from Gaibandha adds: The celebration of 30th founding anniversary of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) was began in the district on Thursday amid much festivity.
Marking the founding anniversary, district administration and DNC chalked out elaborate programmes with the theme “Will Prevent Drugs, Will Build Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla”.
In the morning around 10 am, a colorful rally led by deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin from the premises of district collectorate building here and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the district town.
Later, a cake cutting function was held at the conference room of DC office here. DC Abdul Matin formally cut the cake as the chief guest.
Then, a discussion meeting was held there with additional deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat in the chair.
DC Abdul Matin attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and civil surgeon (CS) Dr. ABM Abu Hanif, mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon and Sadar UNO Prasun Kumar Chakrabartee also spoke at the ceremony as special guests.
