Foundation of Mongla Poura multipurpose bldg laid at Mongla

Kawabena Aman Kawah-Ayah, Senior Urban Specialist and Tusk Team Leader of the World Bank laid the foundation stone of the proposed multipurpose building of Mongla Port Pourashava on a plot of 5 acres of land at Digraj under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district as Chief Guest at a ceremony on Tuesday noon with Alhaj Md. Zulfikar Amir, Mayor of the Pourshava in the chair.
The multipurpose building will be constructed at a cost of Tk.16 crores funded by the World Bank and it will be completed within 30th June in the year 2020.
While the chief guest was addressing the ceremony he expressed his satisfaction over the project and said if the municipality (Pourashava) authorities can complete the project within the scheduled time the World Bank will sanction more such project here (in Bangladesh) in future, but if they (Pourashava authorities) fail to complete the project within the scheduled time, according to the terms and conditions it will be very difficult to help them in future.
Alhaj Md. Zulfikar Amir, Mayor , Mongla Port Pourashava while was giving his address of welcome he told, the under construction project will be able to accommodate 5 hundred shops, 3 community centers, one 3-star hotel and some other establishments. He added, all these facilities will be enjoyed by the businessmen, users of the port and common people of this region.
