Former U-19 cricketer Sajib found dead in Rajshahi

Former member of Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team Sajibul Islam Sajib was found dead at his home in Durgapur upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday.
The 23-year-old batsman was found hanging from a rope tied around his neck with the ceiling inside his room when police broke the door to recover his body around 11:45am, according to our Rajshahi correspondent.
His family members claimed that Sajib was suffering from mental complications after he was not included in a participating team of the upcoming five-team Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket.
Md Abdul Muktadir, director of Bangla Track Cricket Academy in Rajshahi said, “His father called him for dinner, but he told his father that he would not have dinner. At 10:00am on Sunday his father found Sajib was not responding despite repeated calls from outside. Later, Sajib’s father managed to notice through a hole that his son was hanging from a rope and called the police.
It may be mentioned that Sajib began his cricket career through Bangla Track Cricket Academy. He played for Under-15, Under-17 squad of Rajshahi district and Rajshahi division teams.
