Former students of Boalmari George Academy take initiates to help poor

The former students of Boalmari George Academy, an ancient high school of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district, decided to help poor people in the area.
They also take initiatives of giving stipends to the meritorious students in the school with probable welfare for the local people. The ex-students of the school have decided these in a Classmates and Eid Reunion in Baolmari Auditorium recently.
The participants were classmates including, Iqbal Hossain, Zahidul Islam, Kamruzzaman Ponir, Zahidur Rahman Pallab, Engineer Anwar, Engineer Kamal, Engineer Sohel, Delwar, Abbas, Mahfuz, Dr. Khalid, Air Commodore Nayeem, Dulal, Ajoy, Idris, Rezaul, and Adward Dipu, and wives and children of them were participated in the reunion.
 Iqbal Hossain, one of the organizer of the event told The New Nation that they have initiated the programme for meeting each another as most of them are living outside of Boalmari.
Zahidul Islam and Kamruzzaman Ponir said that the classmates decided to help needy people of the area during flood, winter and other occasions whenever they are in crisis. “We also decided to take initiatives of starting stipends for meritorious students of Boalmari George Academy every year,” they said.
The classmates arranged lunch and cultural event where artists, friends and their children took part.
They expressed hope of organizing more of such programmes for realizing the decisions and for reunion again and again.
