Former mayor’s wife accused of eviction of minority family

Hasina Mohiuddin , wife of former city mayor has been accused for alleged eviction of dwelling house of a freedom fighter and minority family .
 It is alleged that by using power, the eviction matter was entangled with the corporation activities of demolishing risky buildings.
 This was alleged by a dweller of KC Dey Road in the city Jinu Rani Barua, wife of freedom fighter ailing Amal Barua at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club auditorium yesterday morning .
 In the press meet she accused former PS to Mohiuddin Chowdhury and city AL Office Secretary Hasan Mahmud Shamser, Asstt. Office Secretary and local councilor Jaharlal Hazari and newphew of Mohiuddin Chowdhury Mesbahuddin Chowdhury Novel for harassment to her family members aimed at evicting them from the dwelling house. Hapless Jinu Barua read out the written statement before the newsmen with tearing eyes . Ailing husband of Jinu Barua and 3sons were present in the press meet.
 The press meet was told that Jinu Barua purchased the land from one Tapas Chowdhury duly registered on June, 2001.
 During the tenure of former Mayor , Hasina Mohiuddin filed a case before the Judge court claiming her land inside the land owned by Jinu Barua in 2001 which was dismissed by court in 2005. Again Hasina Mohiuddin filed another civil suit against Jinu Barua before the judge court in 2006 claiming same land which is still lying pending in the judge court.
 The press meet also informed that with the cooperation of City corporation, the dwelling house of Jinu Barua demolished by city corporation mobile team claimed it as risky building on January 20 and 21 last. Soon after the demolition of the house of Jinu Baru, imposed court injections against any construction over the premises as prayed by Hasina Mohiuddin, sources said.
