National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) honoured its former directors on Thursday for their contribution in bringing the cost of heart diseases treatment within the reach of ordinary people.
Recalling their contributions for the expansion of treatment facilities for cardiovascular diseases, the director of NICVD Professor S T M Abu Azam handed over crests and gifts amid an emotional environment at its auditorium in the city.
Those who were accorded awards were former directors – -Professor Abu Zafar, Professor M A Zaman, Professor M Jalal Uddin, Professor M Nazrul Islam, Prof Emeritus Sufia Rahman, Professor A W F Elahi Chowdhury, Professor A K M Muhibullah, Professor Abul Hossain Khan Chowdhury and Professor Abdullah Al Safi Majumder.
Reminiscing the old days in the institute, former director Prof M A Zaman said: “I have spent a long time of my working life here.
