The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Wednesday set August 23 for submitting formal charge against 19 alleged Razakar kingpins from Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar.
The second tribunal set the date allowing a time plea from the prosecution. The investigation agency while probing the crimes committed by Cox’s Bazar Razakar kingpins Salamat Ullah Khan, Abdur Rashid and Maulavi Jakaria, found the involvement of another 16 people with the crimes against humanity and acting on their plea, the tribunal had issued warrants to arrest them. Police after that arrested Salamat Ullah Khan, Abdur Rashid, Shamsuddoha, Jinnat Ali, Maulavi Osman Gani, Nurul Islam and Badshah Miah on different occasions. Of them, Shamsuddoha breathed his last in police custody on May 27. According to the Investigation agency, the accused were involved in monstrous crimes like murder, genocide, rape, arson, looting and forced conversion during the War of Liberation.
