City Desk :
Forging social resistance side by side with creating awareness among the parents and other guardians concerned against cyber-crimes has become an urgent need to protect the young generation from the dire consequences of the crimes.
Concerted efforts of all government and non-government entities concerned including the media both print and electronics can also be the effective means of freeing the society from cyber-crimes as a whole.
Present government has adopted various time-fitting measures to end cyber crimes. So, all the government and private entities concerned should come forward and work together to supplement the government endeavor. The observation came at a view-sharing meeting with local government representatives and local administration styled “Prevention of Sexual Harassment through abuse of Internet and Tourism against Children” held recently in Charghat Upazila Parishad Complex Hall room in Rajshahi.
Association for Community Development (ACD), a rights-based development organization, hosted the meeting at its conference hall in association with ‘Sexual Exploitation of Children Online and travel tourism Project’. Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazmul Haque, the meeting was addressed by Upazila Chairman Fakhrul Islam and Vice-chairman Tazmira Khatun as chief and special guests respectively. Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Model Police Station Nazrul Islam, Union Parishad Chairman Shafiul Alam, Social Service Officer Mofiz Uddin, Youth Development Officer Mukhlesur Rahman and ACD Project Coordinator Mostofa Kamal also spoke on the occasion.
