A Nepali female student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) filed a complaint of sexual harassment against a teacher of the university.
The accused, Humayun Kabir is an Assistant Professor of Sociology Department. In her written complaint filed with the registrar of the university, the student claimed that the accused teacher had been sexually harassing her for around 10 months. The complaint also claimed that the teacher often send indecent messages in social media and insisted her to talk for a long time after class time.
The victim also claimed that Humayun Kabir threatened her if she submits any complaint against him, he’ll harm her academically. Contacted, Humayun Kabir denied the allegation and said, he was a victim of conspiracy. Talking to this correspondent BSMRSTU registrar Dr Nuruddin Ahmed said, he had received the compliant and sent it to the sexual harassment prevention committee.
