Forced road construction in expatriate house alleged in Juri

There have been complaints of forced road construction through the houses of Middle Eastern expatriates in Goalbari Union of Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar. The expatriate’s sister was beaten up for making obstruction. Expatriate Muhammad Ferdous Miah has applied through the UAE embassy in the Middle East seeking legal assistance.
Muhammad Ferdous Mia, a permanent resident of Jalalpur village in Goalbari Union and currently an expatriate of the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East, complained through the embassy that he has been living in exile for a long time. Only women live in his house, including his wife and sister and sick mother. On that occasion, Amir Uddin (35), the son of the deceased Abdul Majeed of the neighboring house of their village
Nizam Uddin (33), Ali Mia’s sons Malu Mia (40) and Saleh Mia (30), Balai Mia’s son Makhan Mia (55) and Makhan Mia’s son Ghiyas Uddin (35) and some of their accomplices to build a road through his house. Khajur Begum, sister of expatriate Muhammad Ferdous Mia, is involved in road construction If he obstructed, he was attacked. He was treated at Juri Upazila Hospital. A case (petition no. 118/2022) was filed in the Additional District Magistrate Court of Moulvibazar on May 26. Earlier, on October 22, 2021, Khajur Begum filed a complaint at Juri police station alleging assault and beating in the same incident.
Following Khajur Begum’s complaint, the court ordered the Juri police station to investigate. According to the order of the court, ASI Joseph Ahmed of Juri police station visited the scene along with the Sangia force. He gets the truth of the incident.
 On June 16, the court’s investigation report accused police officers of trying to build a road in Tillaket. He mentioned that road construction is currently stopped.
Meanwhile, the local chairman and members of the dignitaries met in a meeting with the aim of settling the dispute. In the meeting, it was decided to give one hundred pieces of land to Khajur Begum for the road. But without implementing the decision of the meeting, on September 3, he forcibly started the construction of the road at Tilaket.
