Former national striker Imtiaz Ahmed Nakib was hospitalised on Sunday with heart diseases.
Nakib went to Sonali Otit Club in Motijhjeel on Sunday afternoon where he suddenly felt ill after playing football.
Later, he was taken to Ibrahim Cardiac Centre of Birdem Hospital.
Two stents were installed in his heart to prop open his blocked arteries as physicians found some problems after preliminary examination.
He was now in the Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) of the hospital.
Nakib emerged as the country’s best striker at his time after playing football for Dhaka Mohammedan since 1990.
