Independence Day programmes: Foolproof security measures taken

Chittagong Metropolitan and district police have taken foolproof security measures in the city and district to ensure smooth celebration of national independence day today .
 Check-posts will be set up at every entry and exit points for making the security foolproof. All entry and exit points of the port city are being monitored round-the-clock.
Police and RAB personnel would keep close watch during the Independence Day programmes across the district smoothly.
RAB personnel will be deployed in close proximity of the check-posts and they will extend security assistance to police, besides protecting all key point installations (KPIs) in and around the port city.
The entire city’s important tourists spots and places like Foy’s Lake, Patenga Sea Beach, Chittagong Zoo, Swadhinata Park, Chittagong Port, Naval Museum and Shishu Park which will draw hundreds of visitors be brought under closed surveillance.
Besides, different agencies have been directed to conduct block raids in different guesthouses, slums and crime points in the city.
Strong vigil on highways and streets will be maintained, the sources said.
A number of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed at the Chittagong Circuit House and around the whole Stadium area to monitor the situation round-the-clock before and after the Independence Day programmes scheduled there by the district administration.
Law-enforcing agencies including police, RAB and intelligence wings have been asked to remain alert across the city and district to prevent any untoward incident during different programmes of different political parties and socio-cultural organizations beside the govt and non-govt agencies to mark the Independence Day in a festivity mood and colourful celebration.
