The security committee of Bangabandhu Gold Cup led by DIG Sheikh M Maruf Hasan assured of fool proof security will be taken to ensure the security of foreign and local teams during the Bangabandnu Gold Cup starting from January 29.
Maruf, who is also the AFC security officer of the country, said highest possible security measures will be taken for the foreign and local teams as well as the spectators during the tournament, according to a BFF website source.
“We don’t want to disclose the measures and it’s not desirable also but what we want to say that the venues and the players will be wrapped with the top security measures, it will be visible and invisible both, plain clothed security officials will be roaming all over” said Maruf.
The AFC security officer said they are confident of a cool and calm atmosphere.
“Traditionally we have clean record of hosting sports events, we have every hope that it would be continued, we have the right approach of preserving the peaceful atmosphere, police and RAB will be working together during the football tournament” he added.
