Speakers at a seminar, marking the 106th birth anniversary of globally renowned philosopher Shaheed Dr Govinda Chandra Dev, urged all to follow Dev’s humanist philosophy for wiping out people to people discrimination and grievance from the society. Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique spoke as the chief guest at the seminar held at R C Mojumder Arts Auditorium on the DU campus. DU Pro-VC and president of Govindra Dev philosophy research centre professor Dr Nasrin Ahmed presided over the seminar while Philosophy department chairperson professor Latifa Begum gave the welcome speech.
World religions and culture department professor Dr Kazi Nurul Islam presented a paper titled “Goutama Buddha through eyes of Dr GC Dev” while philosophy professor Dr Aminul Islam discussed on it.
