Fog disrupts air traffic

Flight operations were disrupted for long time at Dhaka and Chattogram airports caused by dense fog on Saturday.
 At Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, flight operations were disrupted for five and a half hours for the reason.
“Schedules of five international flights and some domestic flights were disrupted for five and a half hours for the dense fog. The

flights operations resumed after disappearing the dense fog about 9:30am,” said Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Information Officer of the airport.
He said, poor visibility had forced suspension of flights on both domestic and international routes since 4:00am.
At Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, the flights operations were resumed after visibility improved on Saturday morning.
“Flight operations have been suspended temporarily from early hours due to poor visibility caused by dense fog at the Shah Amanat International Airport. Three flights were disrupted during the period,” said Sarwar-e-Alam, Manager Wing Commander of the airport.
He said that the operation of flights resumed around 8:45am after visibility improved.
