Bangladesh women football team drew 0-0 with Nepal in their first match of the SAFF U-19 Championship at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Saturday. Despite playing the whole match with absolute dominance, Bangladesh finished the match goalless.
Bangladesh’s Monica, Mariara dominated the midfield but the Nepalese girls have succeeded in playing defensively at one stage.
In the opening match Bhutan beat Sri Lanka 5-0.
In the day’s match, Pema Yangzom scored a brace while Tshering Choden and Sonam Lhamo supported her with one goal each for Bhutan who led the first half by 4-0 goals. T. Sivaneshwar of Sri Lanka scored a suicidal goal in the dying moment of the match.
Pema Yangzom opened an account scoring the first goal for Bhutan in the 21st minute while she doubled the lead scoring her second goal in the 23rd minute of the match.
Tshering Choden further widened the team’s margin scoring the third goal for Bhutan in the 28th minute while Sonam scored the fourth goal for Bhutan in the 45th minute of the match.
T. Sivaneshwar of Sri Lanka scored an own goal in the 85th minute of the match.
Bhutan clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Sri Lanka was totally off-colored as they failed to produce any real move.
