Flourishing extra-curricular talents for children stressed

Officials and cultural personalities at a function here on Wednesday night laid importance on flourishing extra-curricular talents of the children along with projecting true national history to imbue them with the War of Liberation.
They came up with the opinion at the concluding and prize distribution ceremony of the two-day district level National Children Award Competitions- 2018 held at Shishu Academy auditorium in the city.
Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Shishu Academy organised the competitions on dance, singing song, poem recitation and drawing in different categories and children from all eight upazilas in the district participated.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-ICT and Education) Rashidul Islam Monnaf Kabir attended the function as the chief guest with District Children Affairs Officer Imran Mian in the chair.
Former General Secretary of district Shishu Academy Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Mithapukur Upazila Children Affairs Officer MA Wahed and noted cultural personality Sunil Sarker addressed the function as special guests.
The chief guest called for ensuring child-friendly atmosphere and arranging extra-curricular activities for the children in the educational institutions to flourish their latent talents for building a middle income and subsequently, a developed Bangladesh. After the discussion session, the chief guest distributed prizes and certificates among the winners of different events of the competitions.
