A total of 431 flood victims of Fazlupur union of Fulchhari upazila in the district got financial assistance of cash TK 19,39,500 from Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and Swiss Red Cross (SRC) on Thursday afternoon.
The financial aid was disbursed to the flood victims of the char union of the upazila under Disaster Reduction Management (DRM) project being implemented by BDRCS and SRC here with the technical support of German Red Cross (GRC).
The objective of the money distribution was to help them buy essential materials so that they could pass their days without hardship during the flood, said an official.
In case of money disbursement to the selected beneficiaries of the union, the apps of Bangladesh Post Office, Gaibandha branch had been used and the assistance taken from the union disaster management committee to make the disbursement effective, he also said.
BSS from Nilphamari adss: Cash and relief materials were distributed among 48 flood affected families from three Union Parishad under Dimla upazila of the district recently .Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazmun Nahar distributed the relief materials and
Taka 2 lakh and 50 thousand this afternoon at her office. Each family got Taka 5,000 with relief materials.Besides, the UNO gave the family members of one Morsheda, who died from snakebite, Taka 10,000.
Khalishachapani Union Parishad Chairman Ataur rahman, Chairman of Junagachchapani Union Parishad Aminur Rahman and Engineer Ferdous Alam were present.
